Synthesizer & Amp Repair

Professional background and experience
With over 30 years of hands-on experience in electronics, I bring a deep, professional background in audio electronics repair—specializing in vintage analog synthesizers and both tube and solid-state amplifiers. My career began in 1991 within professional audio manufacturing and repair service centers, and later evolved into running my own shop, Wire Audio Electronics Repair, here in Portland. Renamed Vintage Synth Lab in its later years (2011–2012) for Synthesizer Repair, then later on (2015-2018) for Engineering / Design for VSL Eurorack Modular Synthesis Products), my shop became known for precision work, deep circuit-level understanding, and respect for the musical instruments and gear that shaped generations. Unlike many amp techs who focus solely on tubes, I have extensive experience with solid-state electronics, hybrid systems, and rare analog synthesizers. Whether you’re restoring a MiniKorg 700/s, an Octave Cat, a Roland Jupiter, or reviving a cherished amp from the the 50s / 60s / 70s / 80s, your gear is in expert hands.
